I spent some time pinning this weekend (as per usual, I get the bulk of my site traffic from Pinterest believe it or not!) and I just ran across some fab gallery walls and ateliers.  The more the merrier when it comes to gallery walls, there’s no such thing as too many pictures as is the case in the first pic, I think it’s fine for the frames to touch, just fit them all in till there’s no more space!
