Time to add a little sparkle! We are about to have our first snow here, which is always exciting (though it gets old fast) and while I can’t bring myself to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving, I love the idea of adding a little bit of sparkle and shine to our winter decor. I sometimes leave our Christmas decorations up till January because it’s so bleak here, but if you’re a strict traditionalist and take them down by New Year’s, there are other ways to keep the sparkle of the holidays going throughout the long cold months. Try replacing a painting or photo with a super glam, old-fashioned black and white glamour shot, and glittering chandeliers always add bold brightness. I also keep my eye out for silver and gold holiday decor: garlands, tiny white lights, glitzy stars and bells, a lot of these items that don’t scream “holiday” can jazz up your winter and take you all the way into spring with some shine!
